At James Yates Garden Solutions we can manage any aspect of your garden design, including decking. Using timber or composite we can create a stunning seating area, a surround for your hot tub or pool or create that quiet corner you have been craving. Whichever purpose you have in mind for your decking area it is important to note that careful planning is needed as decking is only ever as strong as the base that it is built on.
The site meeting
We will listen to your needs, likes and dislikes, and any ideas you have. We can give you practical and design advice, we will bring our portfolio, product brochures and samples for further inspiration.
Free on site estimation
Once you have decided what you want we can give you an instant idea of costs to see if the project is within your budget.
Once you’re happy to proceed we will produce a free detailed written quotation, including a sketch if necessary.
Once you have accepted the quote we can arrange an estimated start and finish date. We will endeavour to arrive on site as close as possible to the dates discussed and will usually telephone you nearer the time to confirm the actual start date.
Composite decking is a manmade product and is a combination of wood and plastic to form an incredibly durable decking material. Available in a wide range of colours, composite decking is a low maintenance decking option that will look great for years to come. Composite decking will last, is not slippery when wet and it won’t rot. However, all decking requires a good base otherwise other issues can appear over time.
Timber decking is available in soft or hardwood and it depends on the use and the position of the deck as to which would be the best option for your garden. The main benefit to timber decking is the aesthetics, nothing quite beats that “wood look”. There are downsides to a timber deck so please discuss this with us before deciding which materials to choose.
Whether you opt for metal, glass, wood or even rope, we can make sure your decking area has the right finishing touches.
When looking at the design of your decking area, it is a good idea to keep in mind the use you will be putting it to. For example, for decking around a hot tub or pool, it might be a good idea to utilise non-slip boards. Will you need lighting? Will the decking be in full sun for all or part of the day? Some careful planning and considerations now will help us to make sure you have a decked area you can enjoy for many years to come.
